about teddie

Teddie Bernard [they/he] is a queer cartoonist, writer, and printmaker. Teddie’s work follows historical narratives, identity issues, and how relationships form and fall apart. They are currently working on a graphic novel that tackles some of these themes called Ballyhoo. They spend their time refurbishing obsolete printers and researching obscure lesbians. He currently draws his comics in Chicago, where he wishes for colder weather.

Teddie has had had work featured in various publications, including Fruitslice Magazine, F Newsmagazine, Just Wanna Trademark, Mouth Magazine, and Xerox Candy Bar. His work has been recognized by the Society for Professional Journalists, Associated Collegiate Press, and Illinois College Press Association. They graduated from School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a focus on comic art.
